SUNSET PARTY
The Autism Awareness Association (AAA) held a 'White Sunset' party on Friday, September 29, at LaMezcaleria Jal El Dib, to celebrate the inauguration of its new section for younger children with autism, in addition to the main section of young adults with autism.
It was a special evening, dressed in white, symbolizing the hope and support, despite the difficult circumstances that we are going through,
in the presence of AAA president and members of the association and a large number of friends who gathered to provide support to the association’s initiative and projects.

Since March 2020, the parents have been living under extreme stress, as they became teachers, educators, playmates, conflict mediators, psychologists, caregivers, etc., not to mention the lockdown and the fact of being part of the workforce, as they pursue their professional activities at home or in essential services

Covid19 has shaken the foundations of our world and basic determinants of health and that is why, we at AAA - Autism Awareness Association Lebanon, in collaboration with Volunteers Together, and through the generous donation of ACTED Lebanon, European Union in Lebanon, AFD - Agence Française de Développement, have reached out to the less fortunate by delivering 50 hygienic kits to 50 families in vulnerable areas.
During #lockdown and following the WHO’s and CDC’s recommendations on safe practices, as part of an end goal project that reached up to 1000 households across Lebanon.
Together we can fight the effects this pandemic has on humanity.
As we always say at #AAA, love needs no words, it needs actions

ضمن المشروع الممول من الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية واالتحاد األوروبي- مداد والمنفذ من قبل منظمة أكتد، اطلقت جمعية الأهل لدعم التوحد AAA حملات توعية عن الدمج و التقبل في المجتمع للأشخاص ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة بالتعاون مع مراكز وزارة الشؤون االجتماعية وذلك بهدف التقبل وعدم التهميش ورفع الوعي عن الأشخاص المصابين بالتوحد وعن ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة وعائالتهم. وكانت الندوة الأولى اليوم في مركز الخدمات الانمائية في برج حمود بمشاركة السيدة ندى بركات خواجه، بالتعاون مع مديرة المركز السيدة برناديت كريدي.

We wrapped up February 2020 with an awareness session held at Borj Hammoud SDC to a large audience , each having set a goal to know more about Autism Spectrum Disorder and about our activities to promote inclusion.

Due to social distancing, AAA has replaced some training sessions, of our project supported by ACTED & EU-AFD, by a series of:
◘ Online training webinars to empower parents of children with autism.
◘ Awareness Webinars with AUB students to spread awareness on inclusion for a better acceptance of persons with Special Needs in the community.

On April 2, 2019, Under the patronage of H.E. Violette Khairallah Safadi, Minister of State for Economic Empowerment of Women and Youth, AAA lit in blue Lebanon's iconic statue and Sanctuary of The Lady of Lebanon - Harissa, to commemorate the World Autism Awareness Day.
On the same occasion, Mrs Violette K. Safadi launched the "i love someone with autism" campaign where many celebrities wore AAA T-shirt to raise more awareness regarding autism.
