This quarantine period due to Covid-19 virus was pretty much difficult on children with special needs and autism, especially because of the disruption of their daily lives with lack of resources and inability of remote learning.
Thus, within the project funded by AFD & EU-MADAD, and implemented by ACTED, AAA offered free assessment and therapy sessions in speech therapy and psychomotor therapy,
as well as PECS, an educational toolkit to facilitate the communication of non-verbal children.
We organized several workshops and trainings for parents and caregivers of children with special-needs and autism:
on ABA behavioral analysis therapy,
how to deal with difficulties at home,
a series of short videos training on positive parenting,
We also offered Autism Identification Cards (“I have Autism” ID Cards ) for 100 individuals with autism, to be carried along, in case of challenging situations.
AAA offers for free , as part of the project funded by the French Development Agency AFD & EU- MADAD and implemented by ACTED, to each family of a child with special needs, a package of 50 pictures of daily routine activities with "PECS" (Picture Exchange Communication system) that allows people with little or no communication abilities to communicate using pictures.

Covid19 has shaken the foundations of our world and basic determinants of health and that is why, we at AAA - Autism Awareness Association Lebanon, in collaboration with Volunteers Together, and through the generous donation of ACTED Lebanon, European Union in Lebanon, AFD - Agence Française de Développement, have reached out to the less fortunate by delivering 50 hygienic kits to 50 families in vulnerable areas.
During #lockdown and following the WHO’s and CDC’s recommendations on safe practices, as part of an end goal project that reached up to 1000 households across Lebanon.
Together we can fight the effects this pandemic has on humanity.
As we always say at #AAA, love needs no words, it needs actions !
